All public and private organisations owe a duty of care to ensure all visitors to premises are safe. Local Authorities are also under a duty to ensure that pavements and public highways are in a safe condition for public use. Local authorities often have dedicated teams of people sent out to check and report upon the condition of their pavements and highways.
Common Claims
- If you have slipped or tripped upon a defective pavement or road surface, then you may have a claim.
- Common claims occur in supermarkets, hospitals, schools and alike, and accidents are often caused by slipping upon wet floors.
- PI+ can help you pursue a claim against a local council due to housing disrepair and defective premises
I can also help you if you have suffered an injury caused by road potholes whether you were walking, running or cycling.
As with all accidents, it may prove of great assistance if you are able to make some notes about the incident, and details of any witnesses whilst these are still fresh in your mind. Matters do take time to settle, and even longer to reach trial, and it is surprising how much detail you can forget as time goes on.
If possible ask a friend or relative to photograph the scene and surrounding area, it’s surprising how often repairs are carried out quickly after an accident has occurred!
